The Quest Begins

With this blog post I begin my quest to achieve Financial Freedom through Passive Cash, passive income or residual income.  My goal is $2000.00 per week or about $100,000.00 per year by one year from now or August 10, 2011. 

Passive income, residual income, passive cash flow; all terms for a source of income that is generated on an ongoing basis with little or no effort required to maintain it once the initial effort is expended.  Some examples would be rent from property, royalties from publishing music or a book, dividends and interest from owning securities, such as stocks and bonds, (usually referred to as portfolio income), earnings from a business where the owner is not directly involved and, earnings from an online business like a web site, blog or affiliate marketing.


Passive cash income is brilliant!  Why am I trading my time for money when I can create automated cash flow machines that will bring the cash to me 24/7? 


My quest for passive cash began with real estate several years ago but now I have staked my claim in virtual territory, the new wild west, known as the internet.  Where else can you set up shop for a couple hundred dollars and the rent is only $7.99 a month?  You don't need to stock any products or hire any employees.  Yes, I am out to crack the code to internet riches!


I have done a little homework, learned to build my own website, learned how to blog, and recently started tweeting on twitter.  I am starting this blog to track my progress over the next year.  Will I reach my goal?  Will I crash and burn?  I expect it to be a wonderful crazy adventure.  I really do liken the internet to the California gold rush of 1849.  There are a lot of people rushing to stake their claim, a lot of people meeting with failure and disappointment, a lot of people having success and a lot of people being wildly successfull and making millions almost overnight!


I will introduce you to some of the people I meet along the way and of course introduce you to my plan for internet dominance muh-ha-ha-ha!  Speaking of internet dominance, isn't Google amazing?  Do you think they are getting so big that people will soon just start un-liking them?  The internet is so democratic!  I was, obviously, just kidding about my plan for internet dominance, but at the same time not kidding at all.  To make internet riches, so I've heard, all you have to do is dominate a small niche market and there are literally millions of those and more every day!  I Love the internet!  It is stupendously Large, Wild and Crazy, Nutty, Sincere, and most importantly, Local and Sustainable plus it gives you access to anything you could possibly imagine!
